Millennium Development Goals in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has accomplished the majority of the goals on a legal level, but there are still issues within how the Kazakhstani society functions. While women legally have equal rights, they are still stereotyped in the media, which is state-run, and society. They are apart of some environmental international agreements, although they have not signed the Kyoto Protocol. Industrial pollution is a major problem, as well as radioactive/toxic chemical sites scattered across the region. Most of their technology is still from their prior-Soviet days and is in need of updating.
