While they have accomplished this goal, Kazakhstan is looking to expand upon it, and created four new targets in 2007. These new targets address increasing representation of women legislative and executive bodies, as of now, 10.4% of the seats in the national parliament are held my women, prevent and eliminate violence against women, and minimising the wage gap between genders. To accomplish these new goals, Kazakhstan is encouraging poltical parties to promote equal representation and participation and include women in the political process. They are also looking to improve the legal framework which protects women from violence.
